10:02 a.m. - 2007-04-13 More on that later. This morning Scott and I went in to get the kids up and out. Just like every other day. But this was not every other day b/c a little face opened the door, grinning with pride and accomplishment, "hi daddy" "hi mommy". Luke had escaped from his crib. I thought to myself, "do not smile, do not smile, you do not want him to think climbing out of the crib is cute." I verbalized my thoughts to Scott who promptly put on mean daddy voice and said "we do not climb out of our crib" and placed the escapee back in his prison. Amazing how the moment your children are old enough to get into things or to try to touch things that will hurt them - the mean mommy and mean daddy voice arrives and you start to occasionally sound like your own parents. Scary.
